2001 DAYTON REGIONAL APARTMENT SURVEY

The Gem Real Estate Group, Inc.'s 2001 Dayton Regional Apartment Market Survey is a comprehensive investigation intended to capture the current conditions and trends regarding the apartment market in the Greater Dayton and Region. We sampled 420 apartment projects in the region which have been segmented into four Dayton sub-markets identified as Central Business District (CBD), North/West, South and East, as well as the Upper Valley market, the Middletown market, the Franklin-Springboro market, the Springfield market and the Xenia market.

The reporting projects within the Dayton Region comprise a total of 45,931 units. Of the total market, 3,351 units, or 7.30%, were reported to be vacant. This year's vacancy rate is up from last year's figure of 6.43%.  

The reporting projects within the Dayton Area comprise a total of 35,247 units, within 287 complexes. Of the total Dayton Area market, 2,744 units, or 7.79%, were reported to be vacant. This year's vacancy rate is up from last year's figure of 6.84%.
